The War of Forgetting
Everyone knows it happened and no two peoples tell the same version. It is the wound Elyndor's present was built on.
Generations ago, humans, elves and dwarves fought a war that ended with the world split apart. They call it the War of Forgetting, and it is the one thing all three races agree on.
After that, every people tells it differently.
Three official versions
Each race keeps its account of what happened: who started it, who held the line, who saved what could be saved. All three accounts are coherent, well documented, and taught to children.
And all three have gaps in exactly the same place.
The name is not an accident. Something was chosen to be forgotten, deliberately and jointly, and that agreement has survived better than almost anything else.
Why it matters now
Because what broke then is what is failing now. Elyndor’s present — the separation of the layers, the decay, the cracks — is the direct consequence of a decision taken centuries ago that nobody quite admits to.
Working out what that decision was, and who made it, is one of the threads that runs through the game from beginning to end.
We are not going to tell you here. It is one of the things you earn by playing.
The Therians
One thing we can say: the therians are the frontier people of the Shadow Market and the Hunters’ Guild, the living culture of the hunt and of pacts. They are not an antagonist faction.
They are the world’s moral thermometer. How Elyndor treats what it considers “half-monster” shows exactly how much it has learned from its own history.
